Increasing access to treatment and reducing waiting times have been key areas of focus for NHS England in recent years, however, rising numbers of referrals and limited treatment options mean that already pressured services are not able to meet the increasing demands. Providing NICE-recommended eating disorder treatment, such as eating disorder-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT-E) in a digital format, accessed by patients in the home setting may increase access for people with mild-to-moderate eating disorders. Digital solutions may be an alternative or adjunct to face-to-face care. This NICE health technology assessment will evaluate digital interventions offering NICE-recommended psychological therapies for eating disorders. It will review the evidence that is available and assess the potential clinical and cost-effectiveness of the technologies, as well as identifying evidence gaps to help further evidence generation.
