1 Introduction

The use of ex-situ machine perfusion technologies for the preservation and evaluation of liver transplants from deceased donors has been identified by the NICE prioritisation board for assessment. This document describes the context and scope of the assessment. The final scope was informed by discussions at the scoping workshop held on 10th July 2025.
