Indicator advisory committee (IAC)
We work with an independent indicator advisory committee (IAC) to develop quality indicators, including indicators that are suitable for inclusion in the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).
NICE indicators developed by the IAC can also be used for national or local quality improvement initiatives.
The members of the committee include:
primary and secondary care professionals
commissioners
public health and social care professionals
patients or service users and their carers
academics.
Committee members do not represent their organisations but are selected for their expertise, experience of working with multidisciplinary and lay colleagues, and understanding of indicator development and quality improvement.
Where required, topic experts are also invited to help inform the committee's discussions and decision making.
